Singapore’s Megabank DBS (worth $500B) to launch retail crypto trading by year end.
DBS Bank which was granted approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore to provide digital payment token services as a payment institution has further revealed an intention to allow Bitcoin trading by retailers.
According to the CEO of the Singaporean megabank – Piyush Gupta, the bank is currently working on expanding Bitcoin trading to retail traders. Gupta stating that the company will focus on measures to further scale its crypto exchange operations in 2022. He further explained that the bank is equally working on expanding its cryptocurrency exchange beyond its current investor base of institutional clients.
This step once actualized by the Singaporean megabank will be another major institutional involvement in facilitating cryptocurrency transactions across the globe.
